Converted farm turned multi form arts centre, Arts Centre Washington is home to a 120 seat theatre, recording studio and a multi-purpose function room that are used by talented creatives across Tyne and Wear.
It is the cultural hub of Washington where small creative industries can hire artist studios for free. Arts Centre Washington’s cultural programme is managed by Sunderland Culture, a new organisation created to bring together the most important cultural assets and activities in the city of Sunderland.
Matthew Blyth, audience development officer at Arts Centre Washington said: “The centre offers a year-round programme that involves arts groups for children, an amateur dramatics group, dance classes, community choirs and a group designed for anyone living with early dementia and their carers called ‘Creative Age’. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.”
